Sunday 2 June, 1-6pm
Propeller and Benedict Drew
Duration: 8.04 mins, looped
A special screening of The Concrete Ripples Underneath made by Propeller members and artist Benedict Drew in 2012. The screening took place in our studio space as part of the annual Chisenhale Road street party.
Using field recordings and audio mapping, the Propeller group (aged 15-20 years old) worked with Drew to document their surroundings, questioning the misinterpretations that can arise from these translations. This, as well as interviews, video footage and animations produced during Propeller sessions, formed the starting point of a video examining the changing landscape of East London as well as a soundtrack composed by Propeller member, Ruth Elliot.
