A workshop for children aged 4 to 7 years old led by artist Yuki Okumura as part of his ongoing project, Anatomy Fiction. Okumura led participants through an activity to visualise the inside of their bodies and create life-sized drawings of their imaginary anatomy for a special one-day exhibition. Family, friends and gallery visitors were invited to view the work created during the workshop on Sunday 13 April 2014 in our studio space.
Yuki Okumura's on-going series of workshops, Anatomy Fiction have been held at at various international institutions including Aomori Contemporary Art Centre, Japan in 2010; Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, Japan in 2012; Zentrum Paul Klee, Bern, 2013; and Bielefelder Kunstverein, Bielefeld, 2013.
Yuki Okumura (b.1978, Aomori, Japan) currently lives and works in Brussels and Maastricht. Solo shows include Anatomy Fiction (Rakugo version), MISAKO & ROSEN, Tokyo, 2010; Jun Yang - A Short Lecture on Forgetting and Remembering, Tokyo University of the Arts, 2011; and Across Our Horizons, HEDAH, Maastricht, Netherlands 2013.
