Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday 17 November at 7pm for Professor Ella Shohat's talk titled Orientalist Genealogies: The Split Arab /Jew Figure Revisited. The talk will take place at The Mosaic Rooms, 226 Cromwell Road, London SW5 0SW. As a response to Jumana Manna's current exhibition, Professor Shohat will offer a genealogical reading of Orientalist visual culture and its shifting imaginary of Muslims and Jews in the wake of the Enlightenment and colonialism. We are happy for Jumana Manna to be announced as one of the artists participating in the Liverpool Biennial 2016, including Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Lucy Beech, Mariana Castillo Deball, Céline Condorelli and Mark Leckey amongst other artists.

We would also like to congratulate Patrick Staff as well as Emma Hart, Will Holder, Tina Keane and Karen Mirza and Brad Butler for receiving the Paul Hamlyn Foundation Awards for Artists. Patrick Staff's exhibition The Foundation was exhibited at Chisenhale Gallery in February 2015 and co-commissioned with Spike Island, Bristol; Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane; and Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver.
