Last week we launched a new programme of special events at local secondary schools. In collaboration with Emma Moore, Offsite and Education Curator, Ayo Akingbade presented her work to Year 9 students at Bishop Challoner Secondary School, including her new film produced as part of Stop Play Record. Following Ayo’s presentation, the students participated in a workshop, pitching and developing ideas for short films.

On Wednesday 3 February at 6.30pm, Park McArthur will be in conversation with Isla Leaver-Yap, Walker Art Center’s Bentson Scholar of Moving Image in Minneapolis and Director of LUX, Scotland, to discuss her new commission at Chisenhale Gallery. This event is presented in partnership with Tate Modern and will take place in the East Room, Tate Modern, Bankside, London SE1 9TG. The tickets are £9/£6 concessions. Join us on Saturday 6 February at 2pm for a seminar with speakers Ellen Clifford, member of the National Steering Group of Disabled People Against the Cuts; Nadja Millner-Larsen, lecturer in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths University; and artist Park McArthur on the current climate of austerity in the UK and the informal structures of care, which grow in the absence of national infrastructures.
