Thank you to everyone who joined us last Tuesday for the talk by Chris Brauer, Director of Innovation at Goldsmiths University. Brauer reflected on Yuri Pattison’s exhibition and discussed the impact of technology on the future of the workplace. The event took place at Republic at East India, a newly launched East London campus for creative talent and innovation. Photos are by Manuela Barczewski.
Thank you also to those who attended our event on Friday when we held an early morning viewing of Yuri Pattison’s exhibition with an introduction by Tommie Introna, Offsite and Education Assistant at Chisenhale Gallery. Many thanks to the East End Women’s Institute for generously providing coffee and cakes.
Please join us on Wednesday 3 August at 7pm for a screening of the documentary We Live In Public (Ondi Timoner, 2009), selected and introduced by Yuri Pattison. We Live In Public focuses on Internet pioneer Josh Harris, who founded pseudo.com, the first Internet streaming TV network in 1993. Chisenhale Gallery presents We Live In Public in association with MUBI, a curated online cinema of cult, classic and independent film. To reserve a place at the screening, please click here.
Yuri Pattison’s exhibition continues until 28 August 2016. In response to Pattison’s work, Nora N. Khan, Contributing Editor at Rhizome, has produced a specially commissioned text. This centres on a fictional co-working space, reflecting a current economic moment in which digital labour and cognitive work are potentially endless. To download the text, please click here.
