The gallery is currently closed as we prepare for Alex Baczysnki-Jenkins’ exhibition, The tremble, the symptom, the swell and the hole together. Rehearsals are underway with performers from London and Warsaw. For his new commission at Chisenhale Gallery, Baczynki-Jenkins presents a choreography that unfolds across the duration of the exhibition through fortnightly event-based episodes, followed by weekly fugue performances every Friday to Sunday, 2-6pm. Please join us for the opening on Thursday 19 January, 6.30-8.30pm. The performance will start at 7pm. For more information please click here.
This is the last week of Ian Law’s residency on Chisenhale Gallery’s Instagram. As part of our 21st Century programme, Law produced a new performance drawing from archival material relating to an exhibition by Absalon, which was staged at Chisenhale Gallery in 1995. To watch Out of the living, out of the office, a special online commission featuring edited rehearsal footage from Law’s performance, please click here. Follow us on Instagram here.
A new page introducing the Chisenhale Gallery archive was recently launched on our website. Our online archive is a dynamic research resource where visitors can browse past exhibitions, read interviews from our Chisenhale Interviews series, explore our education and offsite programmes, and listen to recordings from talks and events. The new Explore the Archive page presents a selection of rotating highlights from our online archive, celebrating Chisenhale Gallery’s historic commissions. To visit the new page, please click here.
