Thank you to everyone who joined us last Thursday for a screening of The Red Shoes (Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger, 1948), selected by Alex Baczynski-Jenkins and presented in association with MUBI. On Thursday 9 March, 7pm, João Florêncio, Lecturer in History of Modern and Contemporary Art and Visual Culture at University of Exeter, will give a talk drawing from Alex Baczynski-Jenkins’ new work at Chisenhale Gallery. Please join us on Thursday 2 March, 7pm for The hole together, the fourth and final Episode of Alex Baczsynki-Jenkins’ exhibition The tremble, the symptom, the swell and the hole togetherAdmission is free and no booking is required. Doors will open at 6.30pm and the performance starts at 7pm. The gallery has limited capacity and visitors will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis. Alex Baczynski-Jenkins’ exhibition continues until 12 March, open Friday-Sunday, 2-6pm.

Applications for the 2017-18 Stop Play Record programme are now open. Running over a three-year period (2015-18), Stop Play Record is for creative young people aged between 16-24 years who are interested in making experimental short films. Selected from an annual open call, filmmakers will work with a range of professionals working with moving image to conceive and produce short films between 90 seconds and 3 minutes long. We would like to congratulate Chisenhale Gallery programme alumnae Alice Theobald for the opening of Weddings and Babies at Pilar Corrias, London, and Elizabeth Price for her curated show, In a dream you saw a way to survive and you were full of joy, at De La War Pavilion, Sussex. This travelling show includes Colin, 1996, an early work by Hillary Lloyd that was shown at her Chisenhale Gallery exhibition in 1999.
