Thank you to everyone who joined us for Maeve Brennan’s conversation with Erika Balsom, Senior Lecturer in Film Studies and Liberal Arts at King’s College London. Upcoming exhibition events include a talk by Amara Thornton, Honorary Research Associate, Institute of Archaeology, University College London (UCL), on Tuesday 18 April, 7pm, and a screening of previous moving image works by Maeve Brennan on Saturday 22 April, 2pm. Maeve Brennan’s exhibition, The Driftcontinues until 4 June, Wednesday-Sunday, 12-6pm. The film is 50 minutes, and screenings begin on the hour from 12pm, with the last screening at 5pm. On the first Thursday of each month we also have extended opening hours until 9pm, with the last screening at 8pm. Please note that over the Easter weekend (14-17 April) the gallery and office will be closed on Friday 14 April and Monday 17 April. The exhibition will be open with regular opening hours, 12 - 6pm, on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 April.  

This is the last week to apply for the 2017-18 Stop Play Record programme. Selected from an annual open call, Chisenhale Gallery will work with two young filmmakers to conceive and produce two new short films between 90 seconds and 3 minutes long. A solo show of new works by Chisenhale programme alumna Christina Mackie opens at Herald St, London this week. We would also like to congratulate Chisenhale programme alumni Alexandra Bachzetsis and Maria Eichhorn for their participation in Documenta 14, which opened in Athens last week, and Alex Baczynski-Jenkins for his inclusion in Do-Disturb, an annual performance festival at Palais de Tokyo. Listen to Alex Baczynski-Jenkins discuss his recent commission at Chisenhale Gallery with Polly Staple on our website here.
