Thank you to everyone who has joined us so far for Maeve Brennan’s new commission, The Drift, at Chisenhale Gallery. The exhibition continues until 4 June. Recent media coverage includes Frieze Magazine, Artforum and Studio International

Join us this evening, Tuesday 18 April, 7pm for a talk by Amara Thornton, Honorary Research Associate, Institute of Archaeology, University College London (UCL). Thornton will discuss Maeve Brennan’s new commission, The Drift, at Chisenhale Gallery in relation to the preservation and circulation of archaeological artefacts, knowledge and narratives. A screening of the film will take place prior to the event, at 6pm. This event is free to attend but booking is recommended. To reserve a place please visit our Eventbrite page here.  

Forthcoming exhibition events include a screening of previous moving image works by Maeve Brennan, on Saturday 22 April, 2pm, and a conversation between Maeve Brennan and Dr Paul Newson, Department of History and Archaeology, American University of Beirut, and Laura Jones, Culture in Crisis programme, V&A on Friday 5 May, 7pm. Modern Piano Music, a solo exhibition of recent work by Chisenhale programme alumnus and current trustee Ed Atkins opens at the Foundation for Contemporary Art Quebec this week. Alex Baczynski-Jenkins’ The tremble, the first Episode of his Chisenhale Gallery commission The tremble, the symptom, the swell and the hole together, will be presented in its Fugue state at Do-Disturb, an annual performance festival at Palais de Tokyo taking place this weekend.
