Thanks to all of our friends and patrons who attended a conversation last Saturday between Polly Staple, Chisenhale Gallery Director; Ellen Greig, Curator: Commissions; and forthcoming Chisenhale programme participants Lydia Ourahmane and Paul Maheke. Lydia and Paul each spoke about their practice in relation to their forthcoming 2018 Chisenhale Gallery commissions. Thanks to all of our friends and patrons for their continued support of Chisenhale Gallery. To find out more about our Friends and Patrons' Programme, please click here. This is the last week to see Hannah Black’s exhibition, Some Contextat Chisenhale Gallery. The exhibition is open until Sunday 10 December, every Wednesday to Sunday, 12-6pm and on Thursday 7 December the gallery has extended opening hours until 9pm. To listen to a series of conversations organised as part of Black’s exhibition events ––including conversations between Larne Abse Gogarty and Hannah Proctor, as well as Ciarán Finlayson and Marina Vishmidt––please visit the Audio/Video section of our website.

The special 10% Christmas discount on all Chisenhale Editions continues until 31 January 2018. Chisenhale Friends and Patrons will receive a 20% discount. Please join us at the gallery for our Festive Sale Event on Thursday 7 December from 6-9pm where our full range of editions will be on display. Complimentary drinks will be served and Eliel Jones, Curatorial Assistant: Commissions, will give an introduction to Hannah Black’s exhibition, Some Contextat 7pm, organised as part of First Thursdays. All proceeds raised from our editions, kindly donated by artists, directly support the artistic programme at Chisenhale Gallery, commissioning major new works.
Chisenhale Gallery would like to congratulate Chisenhale programme participant Luke Willis Thompson, whose Chisenhale Gallery and Create London commission, Autoportrait (2017), has been shortlisted for the 2018 Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize, as well as Hannah Black for receiving a Warhol Foundation Writing Grant 2017 for her book Vernacular Loneliness. Further congratulations to Chisenhale Gallery programme alumnae Lubaina Himid and Rosalind Nashashibi for their 2017 Turner Prize nomination, and our best wishes to all of the nominees for tomorrow evening’s award ceremony. Chisenhale Gallery programme alumni with exhibitions opening this week include Ahmet Öğüt at Kunsthall Charlottenborg, Denmark and Yuri Pattison at ICA Miami.
