A Sense of Place, (2008-2011) was an ambitious programme for three secondary schools in Tower Hamlets - Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate School, St. Paul’s Way Trust School and Langdon Park School - and for artists with specific interests in collectivism, collaboration and direct engagement with social and cultural contexts. Artists commissioned for the programme were Amalia Pica (2011), Ruth Ewan (2010), Harold Offeh, Simon and Tom Bloor and Public Works (all 2009).

Chisenhale Gallery received an investment from Deutsche Bank and Arts & Business to develop A Sense of Place. The Arts & Business Investment Programme was funded by Arts Council England.
