Paperback, B+W, colour illustrations
Texts by Annie Chevrefils Desbiolles, Fiona Dunlop.
Neither theme nor medium nor ideology links the works of Elisabeth Ballet, Cecile Bart and Sylvie Blocher, yet when seen together they form a coherent whole. Situated at a cross-roads of recent avant-garde movements, they assert a disregard for the boundaries between different forms of artistic expression. Therefore, without renouncing a strict formal vocabulary, they acknowledge the limitations of a language which is articulated only by form. As a means and not as an end in itself, form is no longer the only thing which gives the work its significance.
