A performance by Sydney-based artist Brian Fuata followed by a conversation with writer and curator, Pip Wallis. In this new work Fuata uses the figure of the ghost as a strategy for exploring the conventions of performance. Text generated through conversation, correspondence and collaboration informs his performance with subjective and intimate narratives. Wallis is guest editor of un Magazine 9.1, which features a contribution by Fuata, and this event marks the magazine's UK launch.
Brian Fuata (born Wellington, New Zealand 1978) lives and works in Sydney. Recent and forthcoming projects include Performa, New York; 24 Frames Per Second, Carriageworks, Sydney (both 2015); and Framed Movements, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne (2014).
