On Wednesday, December 3rd to Saturday, December 20th 1986 the Chisenhale Studios’ gallery took a look at glamour with the exhibition “Ruins of Glamour, Glamour of Ruins”. Visitors to this exhibition were able to see a cartoon version of a Page Three girl (hand-drawn with a blow-torch), encounter a mound 5,820 used tea bags, see real smoke pour out of a felt house, experience an 18 foot high heroin addict and notice that the gallery floor was covered with two tons of coal. The artists that participated in this show were: Ed Baxter, Simon Dickason, Karen Eliot, Gabriel, Glyn Banks and Hannah Vowles, Andy Hopton, Tom McGlynn and Stefan Szczelkun.

The opening night and media reception was held on Monday, December 1st 1986 from 6.00pm to 9.00pm and introduced Rick Gibson wearing a waist coat made with living, crawling worms.
