Thank you to everyone who visited Ima-Abasi Okon’s exhibition last week and over the weekend. This Thursday we will be joined by Christian Nyampeta who will present an evening of thoughts, poems, song, dance and video, programmed in association with Ima's exhibition. For more information on this and other forthcoming events please click here.

We're pleased to welcome Ese Onojeruo as our new Assistant Curator: Engagement. Previously Ese has worked as a heritage programme assistant at South London Gallery and as a trainee at Create London. She has also participated in the Young Barbican Curatorial Programme and co-curates the Narration Group, a collective of women and non-binary people of colour who meet fortnightly to discuss, dissect and reclaim their own narratives.

This week also sees the launch of our new Chisenhale tote bags. The bags are available to purchase at the gallery for £7 and all funds raised directly contribute to the programme.

This is the final week to apply for the second round of New Creatives, a series of commissioning opportunities for emerging artists aged 16 - 30 years who work with audio or moving image. The deadline to submit proposals is Thursday 25 July 2019. For further information, please click here.

Chisenhale alumni with forthcoming events include Nicholas Mangan who will present Termite Economies: An Illustrated Lecture at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art (PICA) on 25 July.
