Amalia Pica's year-long Offsite project I am Tower of Hamlets, as I am in Tower of Hamlets, just like a lot of other people are (2011-2012) is currently in week 42. Follow updates on the sculptures' facebook page. The sculpture will return to the gallery during Amalia's exhibition at the gallery in July.
Today pupils from our partner school Chisenhale Primary visited Lynette Yiadom-Boakye's exhibition. The pupils used the exhibition activity guide which was launched earlier this week at the teacher's preview. The activity guide can be downloaded here.
Chisenhale Primary School also visited James Richards exhibition in November 2011 and devised a set of questions to ask James. His answers are now available to download here.

Our youth forum Propeller recently broadcast their own sound recordings on Resonance FM. The recordings were the result of an ongoing collaboration with artist Benedict Drew. For more Propeller updates, click here.

During the Easter break, Propeller travelled to Birmingham to meet with Ikon Youth Programme (IYP). On board the 'Aaron Manby' this session provided the opportunity for planning between cities and for the young people to put forward their ideas for Slow Boat in Summer 2012.

Josephine Pryde, who exhibited at Chisenhale in Spring 2011, is currently featured on the front cover of Artforum. The article by Tom Holert features documentation from Pryde's Chisenhale exhibition Embryos and Estate Agents, images from which can be seen in her archive page.

This is the final week of Christina Mackie's exhibition Painting the Weights.

Tomorrow we have a 21st Century event with Frances Scholz presenting her episodic film Starlite, which is based on a fantasy narrative written by Mark von Schlegell. Both Scholz and von Schlegell will discuss the film at the end of the screening. More information here.

Earlier in February, Chisenhale's Youth Forum Propeller joined forces with Ikon Youth Programme, who came down from Birmingham for a day of gallery visits in London. The groups also started plans towards their collabrative Summer project Slow Boat. Click here for further details.
The next Propeller meeting takes place next week on Wendesday 7 March, 5-7pm, with artist Benedict Drew. Keep up to date with the group's activities by following their blog.

Two pieces of news about former Chisenhale exhibiting artists Janice Kerbel and James Richards.
Janice Kerbel's Kill The Workers! - commissioned by Chisenhale Gallery in 2011 - is currently on display at the Walter Phillips Gallery at The Banff Centre, Canada. A Detour Around Infermental is a new book which examines the historical legacy and contemporary relevance of Infermental, the ‘first international magazine on videocassettes’. Chisenhale hosted an Infermental screening as part of James Richards' events programme. James is co-editor of the book, alongside George Clark and Dan Kidner.
